Emergency Incident at Crawley College: Man Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

A 49-year-old man is currently receiving medical treatment following an emergency incident outside Crawley College today.

Emergency services rushed to Crawley College shortly before midday today following reports of concern for a man’s welfare. Sussex Police, along with paramedics and the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Air Ambulance (KSS), responded to the scene.

A 49-year-old man was found in distress outside the educational institution and was promptly treated by paramedics before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. He is reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Sussex Police have investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident and believe it to be isolated, with no third-party involvement. Officials have reassured the public that there is no wider threat to community safety.

“We believe this was an isolated incident, with no third party involvement and no wider threat to the public,” a spokesperson for Sussex Police stated. “Thank you to the public for their patience and understanding while we worked at the scene.”

The area around Crawley College was temporarily cordoned off as emergency services dealt with the situation, causing minor disruptions. The cordons have since been lifted, and the college has resumed normal operations.

Further details about the man’s condition or the nature of his injuries have not been released at this time.

Crawley College released the following statement “There was a serious incident on campus earlier today, which did involve a large police presence.

“We would like to reassure our college community that this was an isolated incident involving one individual. We are working with Sussex Police and can confirm there is believed to have been no threat to the college or the wider public.

“We understand there has been a lot of false speculation about the nature of the incident on social media, while we cannot comment on specific detail we do want to assure everyone that the college is safe and remains open for all classes.

“We are grateful to staff and the emergency services for their support and swift actions.”
