Hastings Coastguard Rescue Team, working alongside East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, was first on the scene. Given the technical challenges of the location, additional support was called in from neighbouring Coastguard teams, from Bexhill and Eastbourne.

The joint operation showcased seamless collaboration among the emergency services, ensuring a positive outcome for the distressed animal. After a carefully coordinated effort, the dog was successfully brought to safety, unharmed.

A spokesperson for Hastings Coastguard praised the teamwork, stating, “This was a great example of joint working with flank stations and other agencies, which resulted in a positive outcome for the dog.”

The Coastguard also issued a safety reminder to dog owners to exercise caution when walking near cliffs. “We strongly encourage keeping dogs on a lead to prevent such incidents,” the statement added.
