EOD Specialists Respond to Ordnance in St Leonards

: Emergency response teams efficiently manage potential threat.

This morning, an unexploded ordnance discovery at Ashdown House on Sedlescombe Road North in St Leonards prompted an urgent response from local authorities. The ordnance was reported at approximately 9:30 AM, leading to immediate evacuations of nearby homes and businesses as a safety precaution.

A cordon was established around the area while specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were summoned to handle the situation. After a thorough assessment and careful removal of the ordnance, the team successfully neutralized the potential threat.

By early afternoon, the incident was declared resolved, and the road was reopened at around 2:15 PM. Local residents and business owners, who had been evacuated, were allowed to return to their properties.
