East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have attended a fire at Brighton Beach Patrol after being called at 1:17am. In photos sent to Sussex News, the rear of the building can be seen severely damaged.
The garage is used to store the quad bike and lifesaving equipment the beach patrol use whilst patrolling Brighton Beach looking out for venerable people at night.
A police spokesperson said “A 23-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of arson”

Brighton Beach Patrol was established in 2015 by Resolve Security Solutions. With the aim of vulnerable people and saving lives by preventing people from entering the water at night. BBP is now a registered charity.
Brighton and Hove Council Seafront Office has loaned a quad bike to BBP, whilst the fire damage of the Unit is being assessed.
BBP said “With the support of other agencies, we are committed to keeping our vital service running”
