Fur-ensic expert: Cabbage-munching police dog nabs Chichester burglar

PD Oakley, one of Sussex’s most accomplished police dogs, has once again proven his skills by assisting in the arrest of a suspect connected to a recent burglary. Oakley played a vital role in apprehending the individual after they decamped from a stolen van in Chichester.

Working alongside his handler, PC Hale, the skilled canine managed to locate crucial property for examination, leading to the recovery of stolen items from the scene. The dedicated duo’s efforts have resulted in the arrest of one person, furthering the investigation into the burglary.

PD Oakley and PC Hale are known for their tireless work ethic, providing invaluable support to various units across the county. Together, they have an impressive track record of tracking down suspects and solving cases.

Despite his serious work, Oakley is also known for his playful side. When he’s off-duty and enjoying some well-deserved rest, the police dog’s favorite pastime is eating and playing with cabbages. This fun fact has endeared him to colleagues and the community alike, making him a beloved member of the force.

A round of a-paws is in order for PD Oakley and PC Hale for their continued dedication and outstanding work in keeping the Sussex safe.
