Hastings Coastguard works with RNLI to rescue stranded individuals

Hastings Coastguard was called out once again to respond to an emergency situation. This time, the team was tasked with rescuing two people who were cut off by the tide in the country park. The situation was deemed technical in nature, which meant that additional support from HM Coastguard – Bexhill and HM Coastguard Rye Bay was required.

The potential need for a rope rescue added complexity to the situation, which led to the involvement of multiple teams. Fortunately, the inshore lifeboat from RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station was able to locate and access the casualties. The team was then able to extract the individuals to the lifeboat station safely.

The Hastings Coastguard team met the casualties at the lifeboat station, where they were checked over and given sea safety advice.

The team also urged individuals to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard if they find themselves in a similar situation. The Coastguard is always ready to help those in need.

The team reiterated the importance of checking tide times before setting off on a walk along the coast. This advice helps prevent individuals from getting caught out by the tide.
