Hooe A259 Crash: Four in Hospital After Serious Collision

Range Rover and Mercedes Sprinter Involved in Major Accident

Police are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision that resulted in the closure of a section of the A259 at Hooe for several hours. The incident occurred around 11:20am on Thursday, involving a black Range Rover and a grey Mercedes Sprinter.

The Range Rover, traveling eastbound between Pevensey Roundabout and Little Common Roundabout, collided with the Mercedes Sprinter, which was heading in the opposite direction.

The collision resulted in life-threatening injuries for the 35-year-old female driver of the Range Rover from Eastbourne and her 32-year-old male passenger from Croydon. An 18-year-old female passenger from Eastbourne also sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The sole occupant of the Mercedes, a 59-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. All four individuals remain hospitalized.

Detective Sergeant Rosie Newman of the Serious Collision Investigations Unit commented on the incident: “We acknowledge the inconvenience this significant road closure will have caused to many motorists, however it is vital that we secure all available evidence from the scene as early as possible to assist with our investigation.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or captured any relevant dash cam or mobile footage to please come forward.”
