Knife and drugs found after Brighton teen’s arrest

Police in Brighton are seeking witnesses to an incident involving a teenager allegedly carrying a knife. The event took place on Thursday, July 13, around midday on Trafalgar Street, where officers on patrol responded to a disturbance among a group of youths. During the altercation, one individual fled from the scene.

The police pursued the suspect on foot, leading them along Tidy Street and into Meeting House Lane, where they successfully apprehended an 18-year-old male. He was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public area, and involvement in the supply of Class A drugs.

Police officers discovered a knife and a package containing Class A drugs in close proximity to the arrest location. As the investigation progresses, police are urging any witnesses, including motorists who may have dash cam footage on Trafalgar Street at the time of the incident, to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to the police through the online reporting system or by calling 101, and referencing serial number 638 of 13/07.
