Major cannabis seizure in Seaford

In Seaford, PSusex Police have confiscated over 500 cannabis plants from a residence. The incident unfolded when officers were called to an address on Sutton Road on Sunday, September 3rd, around 9:30 PM, in response to reports of a disturbance.

Subsequently, a thorough search of the property was conducted, resulting in the discovery of 284 mature cannabis plants and 257 immature ones spread across five rooms.

An 18-year-old individual was taken into custody on suspicion of cultivating a Class B controlled substance and money laundering. He has been released on bail as the investigation progresses.

Detective Constable Marcus Cox, of the East Sussex Criminal Investigation Department, said: “This is another example of our commitment to disrupt and reduce drug-related activity in Sussex. Drug-related harm can have a devastating impact on victims, families and the wider community and we are continuously working to tackle it.

“The community are our eyes and ears, and we encourage you to report anything suspicious to us.”

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in this area to report it to police online or via 101, quoting 1531 of 03/09.
