Major Hospice Providers Merge to Strengthen End-of-Life Care

St Barnabas Hospices, encompassing St Barnabas House in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House in Arundel, together with Martlets Hospice and Martlets Care, are delighted to announce their merger. This strategic union aims to form a more robust and wide-ranging hospice care organization dedicated to exceptional patient care across various communities.

While all three hospices will retain their unique names and identities, they will be collectively managed by a newly established group leadership team.

This merger marks a pivotal moment in the sector, signifying a commitment to long-term, sustainable hospice care. By pooling the resources, expertise, and experience of these three entities, the organization aims to enhance the availability and quality of specialist palliative and end-of-life care. This initiative is expected to bring about increased efficiency and benefits for patients, their families, staff, and the broader community.

Both entities reaffirm their dedication to providing top-notch patient care, with an assurance that patients will see no alteration in the level of care, the staff attending to them, or their access to hospice services.

St Barnabas House and Martlets have established themselves as leading hospice care providers in the Worthing and Brighton areas, respectively. Chestnut Tree House extends its services across Sussex and Southeast Hampshire. All are committed to compassionate, specialized palliative care and improving the well-being of their communities.

Amanda Fadero, CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the merger: “This merger opens up exciting possibilities and opportunities. We’re eager to continue our collective mission of delivering outstanding hospice care and to strengthen the foundation for compassionate palliative and end-of-life care in our communities.”
