Sussex Police swiftly launched an investigation, leading to the suspect’s arrest. He remains in custody, and specialist officers are providing support to the victim.

Detective Inspector Andrew Ricks said: “This is a fast-moving investigation, and we have been working around the clock to establish the circumstances and locate the suspect.”

He added: “We understand that members of the public may be alarmed by this incident. We have an enhanced police presence in the area. Please speak to officers if you have any concerns.”
