Man, 71, Arrested in Rottingdean School Abuse Inquiry

In an ongoing investigation into past allegations of sexual abuse at a Rottingdean school, a man has been taken into custody by the police. The inquiry stems from accusations made by four individuals who allege they were sexually abused as children by a teacher at St Aubyn’s School in Rottingdean, a school that has since been shut down, during the years 1990 to 1995.

Police have detained a 71-year-old Cardiff man on suspicion of committing gross indecency with a child. He was interviewed with caution and has been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Officers are asking anyone who has information that could support the investigation, particularly pupils and staff at St Aubyn’s School around that time, to contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation Boundless.
