A male faces a total of 17 charges after law enforcement responded to reports of multiple assaults in Horsham.
The initial incident prompted police to rush to Merryfield Drive at approximately 11:40 am on Tuesday, September 19th, after an unprovoked assault where a man was kicked. Shortly thereafter, another man suffered a severe assault in the same vicinity, accompanied by the vandalism of a vehicle’s windscreen.
Additional reports subsequently emerged of a golf club theft at Rookwood Golf Centre, with the same club being used to cause damage to another vehicle on the A24 near the Robin Hood Roundabout.
Upon arrival at the scene, police detained an individual on the A24. During the arrest, four police officers sustained minor injuries after being assaulted.
William Davies, 34, residing on Swann Way in Horsham, has been charged with a range of offenses, including wounding with intent, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, criminal damage (two counts), attempted robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft, common assault, assault by beating (two counts), exposure, and assaulting an emergency worker (four counts).
Davies made an appearance before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 21, and has been remanded in custody, set to appear before Lewes Crown Court on October 19.
