Man charged with attempted murder in Brighton stabbing incident

A man has been charged by the police with attempted murder after a stabbing incident in Brighton. On Thursday, June 22, emergency services responded to a call on Ship Street at around 2 am, reporting a man in his 20s who had sustained serious injuries in a suspected stabbing. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, and an investigation was initiated.

Police identified Harvey Dannsah-Appiah, an eighteen-year-old residing in Monkswell Green, Bournemouth, as a suspect and wanted for arrest. On Monday, July 10, police officers spotted him in Worthing and apprehended him on suspicion of attempted murder and possessing a knife in a public place.

Following his arrest, Dannsah-Appiah was formally charged with both offenses. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 11.

Detective Inspector Neil Phillips emphasized that Brighton and Hove do not tolerate any form of violence and that the incident is being treated with utmost seriousness. The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around the time of the assault is encouraged to contact the police either online or via 101, quoting Operation Inwood.
