Man Charged with Child Rape and Attempted Murder

Following a collaborative investigation by Thames Valley Police and Sussex Police, a 53-year-old man from Goring, Reading, has been formally accused of two serious crimes. The individual, who resides in Iceni Close, was officially charged with the rape of a girl under the age of 13 and the attempted murder of a young boy.

These charges stem from a series of incidents that reportedly occurred over a span of several years, specifically from March 2017 to September 2022. The alleged rape incidents took place in Oxfordshire, while the attempted murder incident involved a ten-year-old boy and occurred near cliffs at Ovingdean, close to Brighton.

The accused was presented before a Magistrates’ Court and has been ordered to remain in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled at Oxford Crown Court.
