Man Charged with Intent to Supply Class A Drugs in Hove

The Tactical Firearms Unit's proactive patrol led to the arrest of a suspect in Hove on drug charges.

A 28-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, following a proactive operation by Sussex Police in Hove.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 4, when plain clothes officers from the Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) noticed a taxi passenger acting suspiciously. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Cromwell Road, near the junction with Denmark Villas, at approximately 6:00 pm.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a quantity of Class A drugs. The passenger, identified as Erblind Daxha, 28, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene.

Following an investigation by Brighton CID, Daxha was formally charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply. He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 7, where he was remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.

TFU Inspector Oli Fisher commented on the operation, stating: “TFU officers play a critical role in keeping the public safe. When they aren’t responding to serious or violent incidents, they proactively target offenders for drugs and other offences, using a variety of tactics, skills, and experience. This has resulted in dozens of arrests so far this year.”

Erblind Daxha is scheduled to appear before Lewes Crown Court on November 4 to answer the charge.
