Man Dies Following Welfare Incident on Undercliff Path Near Ovingdean

A man has sadly died following an early morning incident on the undercliff path between Ovingdean and Rottingdean on Thursday, 20 June.

Emergency services were called to the coastal path at approximately 6.10am after receiving a report of concern for a man’s welfare.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and provided treatment, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation Ongoing

Sussex Police have confirmed that the man’s next of kin have been informed, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Appeal for Information

Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact Sussex Police either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 265 of 20/06.
