Man hospitalized after attack in Brighton’s Madeira Drive

Sussex police are seeking witnesses to an assault that took place on Sunday morning, August 27th, in Madeira Drive, Brighton. At approximately 8:10 am, officers responded to a call outside Volks Tavern reporting a 31-year-old man with a head injury from the assault. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

A 43-year-old man from Hove was apprehended in close proximity and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on conditional bail.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or the events leading up to it to come forward. This can be done either through the Sussex Police website or by calling 101, referencing serial number 347 of 27/08.
