Man Stabbed in Daylight Attack on Worthing Street

Incident occurred on Friday afternoon near Wordsworth Road – suspect remains at large.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious stabbing in Worthing on Friday afternoon (18 April).

Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm to reports of an altercation between two men on Rowlands Road, near the junction with Wordsworth Road.

By the time officers arrived, both the victim and the suspect had left the scene. A short while later, a 20-year-old man from Worthing presented himself at hospital with serious leg injuries consistent with being stabbed. He is currently receiving treatment.

A police investigation is underway, and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect, who is described as a man in his early 20s, of slim build, with dark brown or black hair.

Detectives believe a number of people were in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident. They are urging anyone with information, including dash cam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the assault, to come forward.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 674 of 18/04.
