Man Suffers Broken Jaw in Hastings Altercation

A 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries following an altercation in West Street.

A 22-year-old man sustained a broken jaw following an altercation in Hastings earlier this month, prompting a police investigation.

The incident occurred on Sunday, March 2, at approximately 12:55 am in West Street, Hastings. The victim was left in a serious condition after the altercation, and police launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his injuries.

As part of their enquiries, officers arrested two men in connection with the incident. A 19-year-old from Battle was taken into custody on March 7 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. A second 19-year-old from Hastings was arrested on Wednesday, March 12, also on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Both individuals have since been released on bail while further investigations continue.

Sussex Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with their enquiries.
