Multiple Fire Crews Battling Blaze at Property on Marles Lane, Billingshurst

A fire has erupted in a residential property in Billingshurst on Marles Lane, prompting an immediate response from the fire service. The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have deployed crews from Billingshurst, Horsham, and Crawley to the scene, alongside the incident command unit from Haywards Heath. In addition, supplementary firefighting resources have been sent from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service to tackle the blaze.

West Sussex Fire Service have issued a safety advisory to residents living in close proximity to the incident, urging them to keep their doors and windows shut to minimize smoke inhalation risks

Furthermore, motorists are strongly advised to avoid the affected area to ensure unimpeded access for the diligent firefighters. By granting them clear passage, emergency crews can work efficiently and effectively, mitigating further risks and ensuring the safety of all involved.

An update from West Sussex fire at 14:43 “The fire is now out, and we have just two crews from Billinghurst and Horsham fire on scene. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of this incident. Please continue to avoid the area for the time being.”
