Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries in Chichester Car Collision

Sussex Roads Police responded to a incident involving a car and a pedestrian on Portfield Way in Chichester earlier today. The collision resulted in severe injuries to the pedestrian, who was subsequently rushed to St Richards Hospital for urgent medical attention.

PC Tom Van Der Wee, an officer from the Sussex Roads Police, took to Twitter to provide updates on the situation. In his tweet, he confirmed that the pedestrian’s next of kin had been informed about the incident. PC Van Der Wee also mentioned that Portfield Way had to be closed for approximately 90 minutes while authorities carried out necessary procedures and investigations.

The temporary road closure allowed the police to conduct a thorough examination of the collision site, gather evidence, and ensure the safety of both the injured pedestrian and the general public. The area was cordoned off to facilitate the investigation process, causing some disruption to traffic in the vicinity.

PC Van Der Wee urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or had relevant information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. He provided the contact number 101, along with the reference code 0559 21/05/23.
