An intense fire broke out at a residential property on Saunders Park View, Brighton yesterday evening.

Units from Hove, Roedean, Preston Circus, Lewes, Newhaven, Eastbourne, and Seaford rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised at 6.21 pm on Tuesday 3rd October. To tackle the blaze, firefighters employed breathing apparatus, an Aerial Ladder Platform, and two main water jets.

Local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to the potential spread of smoke. For everyone’s safety, Saunders Park View and the Lewes Road area were cordoned off, with a plea to the public to steer clear from these regions.

As of 8.20 pm, firefighters had successfully managed to extinguish the blaze. While the magnitude of the incident was being scaled back and many emergency crews reduced their attendance, travel restrictions in the area were partially lifted. Lewes Road is now open to traffic, but Saunders Park View remains temporarily closed.
