Police Appeal for Driver Following Vehicle Pursuit in Hollingdean

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Sussex Police by calling 101 and quoting serial 941 of June 12.

Sussex Police are urgently seeking the driver of a vehicle involved in a pursuit which took place in Brighton yesterday evening (June 12).

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in Balfour Road, Hollingdean, supported by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter. The pursuit ended when two men abandoned the car on Ditchling Road around 5pm.

A 23-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, and various other road traffic offences. He has since been released under investigation.

However, the driver of the vehicle managed to flee the scene and remains outstanding. Police are actively appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile footage of the incident, particularly showing a man running from the scene, to come forward.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Sussex Police by calling 101 and quoting serial 941 of June 12.
