Police Appeal for Witnesses After Naked Man Incident in Polegate

Authorities Believe There May Be More Victims

Authorities are appealing to the public for information following a disturbing incident of indecent exposure in Polegate on Tuesday, 19 November. The incident occurred around 9 pm in Park Croft, where a woman reported being approached by a naked man.

The unsettling encounter escalated as the man followed the woman to her front door and attempted to kiss her. The situation was interrupted when the woman’s father appeared, prompting the suspect to leave the scene.

Police Investigate Previous Incidents of Indecency

Prior to this alarming event, a man matching the description was reportedly seen walking naked around the Polegate area. Local police have since arrested a 32-year-old man from Polegate on suspicion of sexual assault and outraging public decency. He has been released on bail as investigations continue.

PC Harry Thorpe, leading the investigation, highlighted concerns over potential previous incidents. “From the enquiries we have undertaken, we believe there are other occasions where a man has been seen naked in public, sometimes in the presence of children,” Thorpe stated. “We take reports of this behaviour extremely seriously.”

Appeal for Information

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a man exposing himself in public within the Polegate area to come forward. Witness accounts could be vital to the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to report it online or contact police on 101, quoting serial 1252 of 19/11.
