Police Arrest Man on Brighton Seafront for Indecent Exposure, Drugs, and Knife Possession

William Mann arrested and released on bail pending court appearance.

Police are calling for witnesses following the arrest of a man suspected of indecent exposure on Madeira Drive on Tuesday, 9 July.

At around 10:10 am, officers responded to reports of a man seen naked from the waist down in a public area. Upon arriving at the scene, they arrested the suspect and conducted a search of his belongings. The search uncovered drugs and a knife in his bag.

The suspect, identified as William Mann, 49, of Hendon Street, Brighton, has been formally charged with several offenses. These include indecent exposure, possession of a Class A drug, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and using threatening or abusive words to cause alarm.

Mann has been released on court bail and is set to appear in court on 8 August, although the specific court location has yet to be confirmed.

Authorities are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information related to it. Witnesses are encouraged to report online or call 101, quoting serial 388 of 09/07.
