Police Hunt for Suspects After Brighton Chemical Assault

A 40-year-old man receives immediate medical treatment after being targeted with a suspected noxious substance in Oriental Place, Brighton.

In a concerning incident on the evening of Monday, 26 February, emergency services from East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS), Sussex Police, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were mobilised to Oriental Place, Brighton, following reports of an attack involving a suspected noxious substance.

The victim, identified as a 40-year-old man, was reportedly assaulted with the substance at his residence. Quick response from the emergency teams ensured the man received immediate medical treatment at the scene of the incident.

Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the attack and are currently conducting enquiries and area searches to apprehend the suspects involved.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said “Police received a report of a suspected noxious substance having been thrown at a man at an address in Oriental Place, Brighton, at around 8.10pm on Monday, 26 February.

“The victim, a 40-year-old man, received medical treatment at the scene. Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries and area searches to locate the suspects. This was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.”
