Police Issue Appeal After Fatal A272 Multi-Car Crash

Police investigate the scene where four vehicles were involved; local man from Reigate die

Police are seeking witnesses and information following a deadly multi-vehicle collision near Petworth.

The incident occurred on the A272 Horsham Road near Fox Hill around 7:50 am on Monday, April 29. A 74-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, who was driving a white Porsche, received immediate medical attention but was unfortunately declared dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

Additionally, a 65-year-old man from Midhurst, who was driving a white BMW, was seriously injured and has been admitted to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The collision is believed to have involved two other vehicles, a black BMW and a white Audi, whose drivers did not sustain injuries.

Police are conducting a thorough investigation and are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
