Police release images of individual in Brighton rape inquiry

Sussex Police are seeking assistance in identifying a man linked to an ongoing rape investigation in Brighton.

A young woman in her late teens came forward to report a sexual assault that took place in a residence on Western Road during the early hours of Tuesday, September 5th. The incident was promptly reported to the police on September 6th, initiating an investigation. The victim is receiving specialized support from trained officers.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon stated: “We are conducting a meticulous and comprehensive investigation into this matter, and through CCTV inquiries, we have identified an individual we wish to speak with. These images were captured shortly before midnight on Monday, September 4th, at Western Road Food and Wine. The man is seen with a distinctive orange bicycle.”

“If you can recognise this individual or possess any information that may be of assistance, please contact the police online or call 101, referencing serial number 1825 of 06/09.”
