Police Seek Suspect After Indecent Exposure in Eastbourne

Officers are investigating two incidents of indecent exposure in Eastbourne and asking the public for information.

Police are appealing for information following two reports of a man indecently exposing himself to women in Eastbourne.

The incidents occurred on Wednesday, September 25, in Green Street, and Sunday, September 29, in Bay Pond Road. In both cases, a man in his 30s is said to have approached women, claiming he was injured and asking for their help. After engaging with them, he then indecently exposed himself.

Officers are now seeking to speak with a man captured in a photo, as they believe he may be able to assist with ongoing enquiries.

Detective Inspector Barry Chandler, who is leading the investigation, said:
“These are concerning reports, and we are following multiple lines of enquiry to identify a suspect. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and we are asking the public for help. If you have any relevant footage or information, please contact the police immediately.”

He added:
“We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour right away.”

Anyone who can help identify the man in the photograph or who may have information about the incidents is encouraged to make a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 631 of 29/09. Alternatively, individuals can report anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting their website at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
