Police Seek Witnesses to Group Assault in Hastings

Police are appealing for information after five people were assaulted by a large group in Hastings in the early hours of July 15. The incidents occurred around 12:30 am as the victims walked along Havelock Road towards Robertson Street.

The group of assailants, consisting of men, women, and children, many wearing England football shirts and carrying England flags, attacked the victims without provocation. After the initial assault, the group assaulted the victims again shortly afterwards in Castle Hill Road.

A man in his 20s sustained serious facial injuries requiring ongoing hospital treatment. The four other victims suffered minor injuries.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed these incidents or who has information to assist the investigation to come forward. Reports can be made online or by calling 101, quoting reference 67 of 15/07.
