Police Seize Suspected Stolen Vehicles in Newhaven and Stone Cross

Sussex Police Recover 12 Vehicles, Nine Pallets of Stolen Parts

In a significant operation on 13 June, police seized 12 vehicles and nine pallets of suspected stolen vehicle parts in the Newhaven and Stone Cross area.

A 36-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including drug driving, using a vehicle without insurance, being equipped to commit burglary, vehicle theft, handling stolen goods, possession of a class B drug, and cultivating a class B drug. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Sophie McGarel commented on the operation:

“This complex operation was the result of extensive collaboration across multiple Sussex Police departments, including the Tactical Enforcement Unit, Intelligence and Tasking, Specialist Vehicle Examiners, and the Criminal Investigation Department.

“Our ongoing investigation aims to reunite the public with their property and highlights Sussex Police’s dedication to tackling serious acquisitive crime in our communities.”
