Schools and Scout Hut in Battle Targeted in Burglary Spree

Sussex Police in Rother are appealing for information following a string of burglaries and vandalism at local educational and community buildings in Battle. On January 8th, two individuals were apprehended in relation to these events.

The series of incidents began on January 1st, around 5am, with an intrusion and theft at Battle and Langton Primary School. This was compounded by significant damage caused by a smashed window on the night of January 3rd or early hours of January 4th, resulting in shattered glass strewn across a classroom.

Additionally, in the early hours of January 4th, Claverham Community College was targeted. Two individuals forcibly entered the college, leading to extensive damage. Subsequent to the Claverham College incident, police officers observed two individuals fleeing from a nearby Scout Hut by the Church, which was also confirmed to have been burglarized.

During the investigation, police recovered three sets of keys and are asking if anyone recognises them. The two arrested individuals have been released on bail while inquiries continue.

The police urge anyone with information that could assist in this investigation to contact them via email at spkl.io/61874QRhJ or by calling 101, quoting the reference number 47240002005.
