Repeat Offender Karlie Everson Sentenced to 18 Months

Karlie Everson, 38, of Manor Road, Worthing, has been jailed for 18 months after a spree of thefts and an assault on a staff member.

Between October and December 2024, Everson stole from supermarkets, local businesses, and doorsteps, breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) eight times. Her thefts totaled around £2,000.

She was arrested on December 9 and charged with 13 counts of shoplifting, eight CBO breaches, possession of a Class A drug, and assault. She pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on February 21.

PC Jamie Sanderson said: “Everson persistently targeted businesses, stealing £840 in one incident. We will continue to pursue shoplifters and stand with retail staff.”
