Sussex Police investigates break-in attempt in Crowborough home

Sussex Police is currently investigating a burglary that occurred in the quiet residential area of Aldervale Cottages during the early hours of Saturday, June 10. The homeowner believes that the burglar may have fled after being disturbed.

At approximately 3 a.m., the resident was awoken by the sound of a radio playing in the lounge of their home. Upon investigating the source of the noise, the homeowner discovered that the back door was open and found evidence suggesting that the intruder gained access through a kitchen window. Fortunately, it appears that no valuables were stolen. However, several food items were found scattered on the lawn outside.

In response to the incident, officers from Sussex Police and a crime scene examiner promptly attended the scene to gather evidence and provide valuable home security advice to the affected resident.

If you have any information related to this incident, please contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial number 22 of 13/06.
