Taxi Collides with Ambulance on A259 in Roedean

A taxi reportedly collided with an ambulance on the A259 Eastbound in Roedean on Thursday evening, prompting a brief closure of the road as emergency services responded to the incident.

The collision, which occurred around 10:15 PM, involved an ambulance operated by Elite Medical, a private contractor that handles patient transfers on behalf of the NHS. Sussex Police confirmed that the incident was minor, and there were no serious injuries reported.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated, “This was a minor collision only, and police are not appealing for any further information at this time. There were temporary road closures in place from about 10:15 PM to about 11 PM.”

The road was reopened after the emergency services ensured the scene was safe. There were no significant disruptions to traffic following the incident.
