Teen arrested on suspicion of assault in St Leonards incident

Wishing Tree Road in St Leonards saw an escalated police presence this afternoon after a man sustained a significant injury. The victim, a man in his 30s, has been transported to the hospital by the ambulance service for urgent medical treatment.

In response to the incident, a teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody. Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident and reassure the community that there is no further risk to public safety.

Chief Inspector Sarah Leadbeatter addressed the concerns surrounding the heightened emergency service presence, stating, “I understand the presence of emergency service personnel can be alarming. I would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection. There is no risk to the wider public.”

Law enforcement officers will remain at the scene throughout the evening as they conduct a thorough investigation to establish the details of the incident. The police express gratitude to the public for their patience and understanding during this process.

Further updates regarding the investigation will be provided as more information becomes available.
