Teen Sexually Assaulted on Train Between Brighton and Southwick

Public urged to contact British Transport Police with any leads.

Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man in connection with an sexual assault on a train traveling between Brighton and Southwick in December.

The incident took place around 5:30 PM on Sunday, December 15. A teenage girl was sitting on the train when a man sat opposite her and attempted to start a conversation. The girl chose not to respond. As she stood to exit the train, the man sexually assaulted her.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of the man they wish to speak to, believing he may have important information that could assist in their investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 527 of 15 December.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, as it could play a vital role in bringing the offender to justice.
