Teenager Seriously Injured in Felpham Machete Attack

Police appeal for witnesses after 17-year-old victim airlifted to hospital following assault near Southdowns pub

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious knife incident in Felpham on Friday evening.

At approximately 8:50pm on May 16, emergency services were called to a field off Felpham Way, near the Southdowns pub, after reports that a teenager had been assaulted with a machete.

A 17-year-old boy from Worthing was found at the scene with a critical injury. He was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

In response to the attack, officers carried out a swift search of the area. Two teenage boys from Bognor, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Both remain in police custody while investigations continue.

Sussex Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any relevant information or video footage, to come forward.
