Two individuals, Tristram Francis and Mark Mullinder, have been convicted after a late-night burglary at Riverside Caravan Park in Bognor. Police responded to the break-in at The Arcade on Shripney Road at approximately 2:30 AM on April 30.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers tracked down the suspects at a nearby Tesco on Shripney Road. A search revealed the pair were in possession of coins, arcade tokens, various tools, and knives. Further investigation at the scene indicated that a 2p machine was forcefully opened, and additional fruit machines were found damaged.

Both men were arrested and subsequently charged with burglary with intent to steal, possession of a knife, and going equipped to steal. Tristram Francis, aged 41 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and possession of a knife during his appearance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on May 1. He has been remanded in custody pending further proceedings.

Mark Mullinder, 45, from Marrion Avenue in Bognor, also admitted to charges of burglary and possession of a knife at the same court session. He has been released on conditional bail.

The sentencing for Francis is scheduled at Lewes Crown Court, while Mullinder will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court for his sentencing, both set for May 29.
