Two Charged with Attempted Murder Following Crawley Stabbing

Victim Remains in Stable Condition as Police Appeal for Information

Police have charged two individuals in connection with a stabbing incident that took place in Crawley on Saturday, June 22.

Emergency services were alerted to Dalewood Gardens around 4pm following reports of a man having been stabbed. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a stable condition.

In the hours following the incident, police arrested two suspects. Steven Finn, 45, of North Road in Crawley, and Rebecca Smith, 45, of Dalewood Gardens, have now been charged with attempted murder. Both suspects have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Lewes Crown Court on July 22.

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Garman commented on the situation, saying, “This was an extremely serious incident that was met with the robust emergency response it required. The victim was swiftly treated by paramedics and, following an extensive search, we were able to bring two suspects into custody. I would like to thank the community for their patience while we investigated this incident over the weekend.”

The police continue to appeal for any information or relevant footage related to the incident. DCI Garman added, “We are still appealing for anyone with information or relevant footage to report to police online or via 101, quoting Operation Wildwood.”
