Update: A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing on Brighton seafront.

Sussex Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Marine Parade, Brighton, at around 9.30am on July 2. Officers attended the scene and arrested a 31-year-old man.

A 37-year-old man from Brighton was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

Sussex Police have confirmed that Rynell Howles, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, threatening a person with a bladed article, and arson.

He was due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 4.

Detective Inspector Neil Addison said:
“This is a fast-moving and complex investigation. Officers responded quickly to the scene and arrested a suspect. We are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and report it online, quoting serial 456 of 02/07.”
