Urgent Call for Witnesses: Fatal Collision on Priory Road, Hastings

Fatal accident claims life of local man; witnesses with dashcam footage urged to come forward.

Police are urgently calling for witnesses following a tragic incident that occurred on Priory Road, near The Bridge Community Centre, at approximately 1 PM on Sunday, May 5. A 65-year-old local man, involved in a collision with a motorcycle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The authorities have informed his next of kin of the unfortunate event.

In connection with the incident, a 25-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has since been released without charge, with no further action to be taken against him by the police.

The investigation continues as officers have released an image of the motorbike involved and are seeking to identify and speak with the man associated with it. The police hope that by speaking with him, they can further their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who recognizes the motorbike, the man, or who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, to come forward. This information could be crucial in helping to understand the sequence of events leading to this tragic accident.
