People gathered at 11am this Boxing Day morning on Lewes High Street outside the Crown Court to see the riders and hounds parade through before they go off for a trail-hunt.

The Southdown & Eridge Hunt is located in southeast England with the kennels situated in Ringmer, East Sussex.

Trail-hunting involves laying a scent across the country which a pack of hounds then searches for and follows using their noses.

When the Hunting Act 2004 was enforced, many hunts wanted to retain their infrastructure so took up trail hunting with their hounds to comply with the new law that had banned traditional foxhunting.
