VIDEO: POPEYES PUNCH-UP! Teens brawl in Brighton chicken shop

Sussex Police investigate after a group of youths clash in the popular restaurant.

A chaotic scene unfolded at Popeyes Chicken on North Street, Brighton, around 4 PM on Sunday 20th October, as a group of youths clashed inside the popular fast-food chain. Diners, including families with children, were left stunned as the situation escalated into a full-blown brawl, disrupting the usual weekend crowd.

Witnesses described the atmosphere as tense, the young group became increasingly aggressive. Staff members attempted to calm the situation, but the chaos quickly grew out of control. One diner, who was there with his two children, said, “We were just enjoying our meal when all of a sudden it turned into complete mayhem. People were yelling and pushing each other. The staff did their best, but it was really frightening for the kids.”

Sussex Police were called to the scene and quickly intervened to restore order. Although no serious injuries were reported, many customers were visibly shaken by the incident. One woman, who was in the restaurant at the time, said, “It was terrifying. You don’t expect this kind of thing to happen when you’re just out grabbing a meal with your family.”

A spokesperson for Sussex Police provided a brief statement following the incident: “We were alerted to a disturbance at Popeyes Chicken on North Street, Brighton, around 4 PM. Officers arrived promptly, and the situation was resolved without major injuries. We are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation.”

At this time, Popeyes has not commented on the brawl. Police are urging any witnesses or individuals with information regarding the altercation to contact Sussex Police by calling 101 and quoting reference 562 of 20/10/2024.
