Violent Outburst in Nyewood Lane

The incident happened on 20 December, when Sneddon, who was drunk and aggressive, shouted homophobic abuse at a bus driver before smashing the bus window.

He then stole a metal motorcycle chain and used it to smash the windows of several parked cars in the Nyewood Lane area.

When Sussex Police arrived, Sneddon continued to swing the chain, threatened to kill a police officer, and kicked a police dog before officers detained him.

Court Sentencing and Police Response

Sneddon was charged and pleaded guilty to the following offences:

  • 14 counts of criminal damage
  • Resisting arrest
  • Causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal
  • Theft from a motor vehicle
  • Possession of an offensive weapon
  • Threats to kill
  • A public order offence

Following the sentencing, PC Emma Lacey said:

“We will not tolerate violent and anti-social behaviour. Inde Sneddon, who was drunk and aggressive, has since shown no remorse. I am pleased with the sentence he has been given.”
