West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service Responds to Midday Blaze in Littlehampton

Dozens of firefighters from the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were spotted rushing towards South Terrace in Littlehampton earlier today, just after midday. According to a spokeswoman for the fire service, they were responding to a call about a fire in a flat on South Terrace.

Seven fire engines, along with an aerial ladder platform and command support unit, were quickly mobilized by the Joint Fire Control to attend the scene. As soon as the firefighters arrived, they donned their breathing apparatus and made their way into the high-rise building, armed with two hose reels and one jet to combat the flames.

Fortunately, the fire has now been successfully extinguished, and everyone who was in the building at the time has been accounted for. However, several crews have remained on-site to ensure that the area remains safe and to continue damping down any remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
