Witnesses sought in Hailsham robbery of elderly man

Police are seeking assistance from potential witnesses following a robbery incident in Hailsham.

Around 00:35 am on Saturday, October 7th, police were called to a residence on Ersham Road. The call reported an intrusion by four individuals who demanded money from the occupant.

The victim, an elderly gentleman in his 80s, was subjected to threats and complied by providing a sum of money. He suffered a head injury during the ordeal and was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical attention. Thankfully, he has since been discharged.

Police promptly responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search of the area, deploying resources such as police dogs and a drone. Regrettably, no suspects were identified during the search.
