Witnesses Sought in Hastings Street Assault

Man in his 30s seriously injured outside Hare and Hawthorn; police call for information.

Police are seeking witnesses after an assault occurred on George Street, Hastings, near the Hare and Hawthorn bookshop on Saturday, May 4, at approximately 6:30 PM.

A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries during the incident and was subsequently hospitalised. Fortunately, he is expected to recover fully.

Authorities are calling on anyone who witnessed the altercation, has CCTV footage from the area, or possesses any relevant information, to come forward to aid the investigation.

Reports can be made through the police’s online reporting form or by calling 101 with the reference 1144 of 04/05. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
