Yapton Teen Arrested and Charged with Knife Possession Others Released on Bail

Sussex Police Make Multiple Arrests Following Reports of Drugs and Weapons

Sussex Police have charged a teenager in connection with the possession of a weapon following a disturbance in Yapton. The incident occurred on Bilsham Road at around 7 PM on June 12, where three individuals were reportedly seen offering drugs, and a large knife was also observed.

A 15-year-old boy from Yapton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug. Additionally, a 16-year-old boy from Yapton was taken into custody on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B and class C drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 16-year-old boy from Bognor was arrested and charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He is scheduled to appear before Worthing Youth Court for a plea hearing on August 29.

In response to the incident, Sussex Police, along with local partners, are continuing their efforts to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the Barnham and Yapton areas. Residents experiencing anti-social behaviour are encouraged to report incidents via 101 or online, quoting Op Precinct. In emergencies, always dial 999.
